This Monday, we journey to the remote Shetland Islands, where rugged coastlines, quiet sea lochs, and icy North Atlantic waters provide a haven for one of Britain's most elusive wild animals—the Eurasian otter. In this peaceful corner of the world, we meet Billy, his wife Susan, and their devoted sheepdog Jade, who live by the sea.
Their quiet life changes when Billy discovers a starving otter pup searching for food near his home. He begins leaving out fresh fish each day, patiently watching over her from a respectful distance. As Molly gradually grows to trust him, an extraordinary bond unfolds between human and wild animal.

❤️ WHAT I LOVE about this film is that it's just sooooo beautiful and touching! It's mind-blowing to see how strong Billy and Molly's bond becomes and how incredibly close they get. With only the director and a second camera operator living alongside Billy for months, the filmmakers were able to capture their relationship from an unbelievably intimate distance. Molly's playful personality and irresistible charm will completely melt your heart, just as they did mine, making you want to scream, "She's the cutest animal on Earth!" 😍
I also love the way Billy cared for Molly. He helped her survive but knew where to draw the line, allowing Molly to remain truly wild. He never tried to keep her as a pet, allowing her to remain truly wild. The director, Charlie Hamilton-James—an award-winning wildlife cinematographer with more than three decades of experience, yet he said he had never seen a wild otter form such a trusting relationship with a human.
