Hello ✨ Soulbrighters ✨
This Friday, join us for ONE OF THE MOST UNIQUE film experiences! We journey to the U.S., to a small town in Texas in 2002, and meet a quiet and observant 6-year-old boy, Mason.
We follow Mason as he grows on screen from age 6 to 18, right before our eyes, through a series of everyday moments that slowly shape who he becomes. Raised by his single mother Olivia, alongside his sister Samantha, he navigates shifting homes, changing schools, and the evolving presence of his father, all while trying to understand his place in the world.
Over 12 years, the film captures one of the most transformative periods of a person’s life in the most natural and unforced way.

❤️ WHAT I LOVE about this film is that it’s truly one of a kind. We get to see all the main characters growing and aging in real time! They filmed once a year for 12 years, capturing time within the characters themselves. Richard Linklater began with a basic outline and the ending, then built the story year by year. He even incorporated changes he observed in the actors into the script, allowing their real-life experiences to shape their characters. Because of that, the story develops organically over time, and it feels incredibly real!
And the result is an experience of life itself. The accolades speak for it.
🏆The film went on to win the Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Film, received six Academy Award nominations, and took home Best Supporting Actress, and won a total of 178 awards worldwide 🤯
