This Friday, we step into the quiet, wind-swept countryside of 16th-century England, into a world where nature breathes, whispers, and listens. There, we meet Agnes, a woman deeply attuned to the rhythms of the earth—wandering through forests, working with herbs, and sensing something beyond what can be seen. Alongside her is her husband, William, often away in London, and their 3 children, including a gentle boy named Hamnet.
Then, one day, illness enters their home.
What follows is not just loss, but the slow, aching unraveling of a family—and the different ways each of them tries to survive it…

🔮 Based on the award-winning novel by Maggie O'Farrell, and inspired by the real-life son of William Shakespeare, this film lives between history and imagination. With little recorded about Agnes or the aftermath of Hamnet’s death, it becomes a lyrical reconstruction—told largely through her perspective, bringing forward the lives and emotions beyond the legend.
❤️ WHAT I LOVE about this film is how it doesn’t feel like a typical period drama. Through emotion-driven storytelling, we feel it more than we understand it. The forest is alive. The wind carries memory. Through cinematography, sound, and Jessie Buckley’s Oscar-winning performance, we are immersed in the emotional world—drawn into a space just beyond reality. It is so powerful and beautiful, and I cried… a few times.
