Soulbright Movie Night | Malèna

Small-town Sicily, the town's most stunning woman — who simply walks down the street and causes chaos — and a potent social commentary, sometimes humorous and many times heartbreaking, from the celebrated director of Cinema Paradiso.

In the Heart of the Story
Malèna, played by the magnificent Monica Bellucci, is a grieving war widow who becomes the obsession of every man and the target of every woman. Watching from his bicycle is young Renato, a twelve-year-old boy who falls desperately in love with her. Through his eyes, we see everything — the humor, the heartbreak, and the quiet humanity that survives it all.
