Hello ✨ Soulbrighters ✨
This Monday, we'll meet legendary performance artist Marina Abramović as she prepares for her groundbreaking 2010 retrospective at New York's Museum of Modern Art. At the heart of the exhibition is her silent performance piece, The Artist Is Present, where visitors are invited to sit face-to-face with her in complete silence—for as long as they wish.

It sounds incredibly simple, but she performed it throughout MoMA's opening hours—7.5 hours a day, six days a week, for nearly three months. And she was 63 years old!
The exhibition attracted over 850,000 visitors, becoming one of MoMA's most successful exhibitions, while The Artist Is Present has since become one of the most iconic performance artworks of the 21st century.

This documentary explores the power of presence, vulnerability, and human connection while tracing the remarkable career of one of contemporary art's most influential figures. It also invites us to ask: Why is this art? At what point does an ordinary human interaction become art?

🪑👁️❤️ Marina Abramović: The Artist Is Present (2012)🎭🤫✨

❤️ WHAT I LOVE about this film is... WOOOOOOOOW! It is so powerful and profound! The concept seems incredibly simple, and we immediately understand the extraordinary endurance it requires. But the film gives us the time to truly experience the performance. As we watch the expressions of the sitters and Marina's own journey, we gradually discover what the piece is really about, what it became, and why it had such a profound impact. By the end, we don't just understand the artwork—we feel it. I didn't even know why, but it brought tears to my eyes…

🏆 Winner of awards including the Berlin International Film Festival Audience Award and an Emmy Award, with a 96% Rotten Tomatoes score.

But forget the accolades. Let's experience this remarkable film together, then stay for the discussion afterwards to explore what it's really all about.
