Dear ✨Soulbrighters✨,
This Friday, let’s take a journey to the bustling streets of Dublin, where a street corner and a music instrument shop become a stage for street musicians—and their songs will shake your soul!
This is where we meet a thirty-something busker guy, chasing his dream through music on the streets. One day, in the middle of his performance, he meets a 19-year-old Czech magazine and flower seller, who quietly carries her own love for music, practicing piano at a nearby music shop. What begins as a simple conversation turns into something more—they share songs, play together, and slowly, a special connection begins to take shape…
It’s a raw, intimate, and deeply human story that unfolds through music.
🧔❤️🔥👩🦰Once (2007) 🎸🎹🇮🇪
❤️It is a one-of-a-kind film, and I truly LOVE IT because they REALLY focused on making the MUSIC fxxking GREAT! Instead of hiring actors, they cast professional musicians, Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, in the main roles (so they can truly perform!). And all the songs were written and performed by them in the film too (including the Oscar-winning song “Falling Slowly”✨)
The music is raw, intimate, and emotionally powerful—and the performances are AMAAAAAAZING! (it hits you hard from the very first song!)
💕Moreover, I love this film for how AUTHENTIC it is! Often described as a MODERN MUSICAL, all the songs are fully integrated into the story—emerging naturally as the characters perform on the streets or play in the music shop. And the story is so simple, yet deeply touching—a realistic portrait of connection, where the smallest moments become so meaningful and quietly move you.
🏆This film won the Oscar for Best Original Song and was nominated for 2 Grammys! It has received a total of 24 awards worldwide, and was later adapted into a successful stage musical in 2011, winning 8 Tony Awards!
🔮And after the film, I’ll also be showing a short making-of film—so you can see how this beautifully raw film was brought to life 🎬✨
⚠️The music of this film is NOT meant to be listened to on your laptop speakers!
DON’T MISS this chance to EXPERIENCE it with our BIG SCREEN and BIG SPEAKERS!
