What going out in Canggu is like

The listings here split three ways, which is unusual for Bali. There is the nightlife — beach clubs that run from sunset sessions into the early hours, and venues that put on a different night each evening of the week. There are community meetups: coworking socials, language exchanges, founder and networking nights, run by the people who live here rather than by venues. And there is a steady wellness thread of yoga, breathwork and movement classes, most of them in the morning.

A large share of what happens in Canggu costs nothing to attend. Meetups and community nights are usually free or ask only that you buy a drink, so the area is the easiest place to start if you have just arrived and want to meet people without committing to a ticket.

Midweek is busier than you would expect — Tuesday is often as full as Friday — because the recurring community nights sit on weekdays and leave the weekend to the beach clubs. If you are choosing an evening, check the date filter above rather than assuming Saturday is the main event.
