Quick answer: For most Bali hosts, the choice is between Balievents and Megatix, with Eventbrite and Booketing for narrower cases. Balievents has no commission on the Free plan, takes card and QRIS, pays out every Friday, and puts your event in front of people looking for things to do in Bali. Megatix is free for organisers, with fees paid by buyers, and is used by many larger venues. Eventbrite does not list Indonesia among its payout countries. Selling over WhatsApp and bank transfer costs nothing but leaves you matching transfers by hand.

Fast facts — from each platform's own pages, as of October 2026:

Balievents

How we compared them

We read each platform's own pricing, organiser and terms pages on 22 October 2026. Where a platform does not publish a number, we say so and leave it out. We run Balievents, so read our part with that in mind; every claim about us is on our partnership page.

Balievents

Balievents is an event listing and ticketing site for Bali. In the last 12 months it listed 889 events from 165 venues and hosts.

  • Cost: Free plan, no commission. The guest pays a 3% service fee at checkout, so your ticket price stays the price you set.
  • Payments: card and QRIS. QRIS lets a guest pay from any Indonesian banking or e-wallet app.
  • Payouts: by bank transfer every Friday, for tickets sold up to the day before.
  • At the door: every booking, free or paid, gets a QR ticket. You or your door staff scan it with the host dashboard.
  • Reach: your event appears on date, area and category pages. Event Boost (5% of each ticket sold) adds homepage visibility and SEO and GEO optimization for Google and AI search. Boost Plus (10%) adds an announcement in our WhatsApp community and an Instagram story on @bali__guide.
  • Tools: sales and guest lists per date, team access, promoter links, your own ad pixels, Excel download of every booking.

What we do not have: Megatix's terms describe payment plans (pay in parts), which we do not offer.

Megatix

Megatix is a ticketing platform used by Bali venues such as Mesa Bali. On Balievents, those listings link to Megatix for tickets.

From its organiser page as of October 2026:

  • Cost: "Free for organisers". Free events carry no ticketing fees. On paid events, buyers pay the fees, or you include them in the ticket price. The page does not publish the fee amounts.
  • Payouts: "settlement arrangements are clearly set out from the start", agreed with Megatix. The timing is not published.
  • Tools: scanning on any phone, promotional codes, group offers, tables, guest lists and VIP, and live sales reports with exports.
  • Payment plans: its terms describe paying in instalments.

Megatix is a good fit for large venues and concerts that want a ticketing system and already bring their own audience.

Eventbrite

Eventbrite is a global ticketing platform.

From its pricing and help pages as of October 2026:

  • Cost: 3.7% + US$1.79 service fee per paid ticket, plus 2.9% payment processing per order. Free events cost nothing. These prices are for plans in the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and Ireland.
  • Payouts: Indonesia is not on the list of countries where Eventbrite pays out through its own payment processing. Its help page says that if your currency is missing, you can use PayPal.

Eventbrite can suit an international conference or retreat that sells mostly to buyers abroad. For a Bali night sold to people already on the island, QRIS and a local payout matter more.

Booketing

Booketing is a booking system for nightlife. Its own site describes a marketplace for dayclubs, nightclubs and lounges at Las Vegas resorts. In Bali, Savaya and Desa Kitsuné run their guest lists on Booketing pages.

It publishes no fees for venues. It is a tool for a venue's own guest lists and tables, not a place where people browse what is on in Bali. Venues that use it can still list each night on Balievents, which links to their booking page.

Selling over WhatsApp and bank transfer

Many small hosts start here, and it costs nothing. The cost is your time:

  • You match each transfer to a name by hand.
  • There is no QR ticket, so the door list is a spreadsheet or a chat.
  • Guests with a foreign bank account cannot easily make a local transfer.
  • Nobody outside your contacts sees the event.

A free listing on Balievents keeps the WhatsApp chat for questions and moves the payment to a page that takes card and QRIS.

Which one should I choose?

  • A weekly night, class or workshop in Bali: Balievents. No commission on Free, QRIS, Friday payouts, and the event is found by people looking for one like it.
  • A large concert or a club with a ticketing team: Megatix, and list each night on Balievents for discovery.
  • An international conference selling abroad: Eventbrite, if its payout options work for your bank.
  • A club running only guest lists and tables: Booketing or your own system, and list each night on Balievents.

You do not have to pick one. A listing on Balievents is free and can link to tickets sold elsewhere.

How do I start on Balievents?

  1. Create your event — title, venue, dates, price or Free, poster.
  2. Add your payout account under Payments.
  3. Publish, and share the link.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best ticketing platform in Bali?

It depends on the event. For weekly nights, classes and workshops sold to people in Bali, Balievents has no commission on its Free plan, takes card and QRIS, and pays out every Friday. Large venues with their own ticketing team often use Megatix.

Is there a Megatix alternative in Bali?

Yes. Balievents sells tickets by card and QRIS with no commission on the Free plan, pays out every Friday, and shows your event to people looking for things to do in Bali.

Does Eventbrite work in Indonesia?

You can list events, but Indonesia is not on Eventbrite's list of payout countries for its own payment processing as of October 2026. Its help page suggests PayPal where your currency is missing.

Can guests pay with QRIS?

On Balievents, yes: card or QRIS on every paid ticket.

Who pays the fees on Balievents?

The guest. A 3% service fee is added at checkout. On the Free plan the host pays no commission.

Can I list on Balievents if I sell tickets on Megatix?

Yes. Listing is free, and the event page links to where the tickets are sold.
